Previously, The US Sun reported that the singer had tapped her longtime friends Gigi Hadid and Selena Gomez to be her bridesmaids. However, new reports suggest there could be a major shake-up in Swift’s bridal party lineup.

Selena Gomez reportedly turned down Taylor Swift’s bridesmaid invitations.
According to the Daily Mail, Gomez politely turned down Swift’s multiple invitations to be one of her bridesmaids. A source told the outlet that the “Opalite” singer is taken aback by the rejection, but is determined not to give up.

Gomez, who married Benny Blanco in September, is reportedly cautious about potentially overshadowing Swift on her big day.

“Taylor asked Selena to be a bridesmaid but Selena told her it could take too much of the focus away from her on her big day,” the source told the outlet. “But Taylor won’t give up. She’s not taking no for an answer. She’s asked Selena a few times and has got a ‘no, but I love you’ reply.”

Despite turning down being a bridesmaid, Gomez is reportedly preparing her own speech for Swift on her wedding day.

“Selena and Benny will definitely be there on Taylor and Travis’ big day,” the insider told the outlet. “In fact, Selena’s already worked on her speech, which she’s confiding is a tough job after the beautiful one Taylor did at her wedding.”

While Swift and Kelce continue to keep their wedding plans under wraps, several reports have surfaced online claiming to reveal new details about their big day.

Earlier this week, The US Sun reported that Swift’s bridesmaids have been busy planning “at least three or four girls’ trips or bachelorette-style getaways” ahead of the singer’s wedding.

The outlet added that Swift’s future mother-in-law, Donna Kelce, has been hands-on in the wedding planning as well.

Meanwhile, Gomez is said to be thrilled to share her wedding preparation tips, having tied the knot earlier this year.

“[Selena] constantly brings ideas and suggestions to make it the best experience possible for her best friend, Taylor,” the source added. “They’re all having such a great time; they love the process, and it feels like a dream experience for them — all so excited to support their very close friend, their ‘sister,’ Taylor.”

So far, reps from Swift and Kelce have yet to confirm these reports.
