It’s bad news for Donald Trump
CNN interrupted their usual programming for urgent coverage as chief data analyst Harry Enten revealed president Donald Trump is “weaker than ever.”
Enten appeared live on air to analyze Trump’s approval numbers following the government shutdown, and declared that it wasn’t the Republican Party that emerged victorious. The CNN host said, “I think it’s pretty clear, at least from a political angle, that Democrats won the shutdown.
“Why do I say that? Well first, let’s take a look at Donald Trump’s net approval rating. It’s way down from where it was pre-shutdown. Pre-shutdown, that approval rating was at -10 points – now it’s at -15 points, the lowest his net approval rating has been during his entire second term in office.”

“Where are they now? They’re ahead by five points. Their lead has widened. It has extended. The Democratic lead on the generic ballot has widened,” he continued, reports the Express.
Social media users were swift to react to the segment, with one posting, “Stunning new polling from CNN’s Harry Enten reveals how Democrats won the shutdown fight and why Donald Trump is weaker than ever. This is amazing.”
Another person chimed in, “Trump shut down the government to kill healthcare and ended up tanking his own approval by double digits, congrats on the fastest self-own in political history.”
Enten’s comments come after Fox News also shared some disappointing approval ratings for Trump. The network recently interrupted their regular programming to reveal the president’s approval rating has plummeted to its lowest point.

Fox News released new polling data showing Trump’s approval had fallen to just 38%. The network described it as the “lowest it’s been in his second term” amid growing voter dissatisfaction with the president’s performance.
Kim Strassel was asked whether this suggested Trump’s affordability messaging wasn’t resonating yet. She confirmed that was the case while characterizing the numbers as a “huge wake up call” for Republicans, noting that Trump’s approval rating has been “sliding for a while.”
She said, “They’ve given him nine months now, they’ve been waiting. But suddenly they’re looking around and things really haven’t improved to the degree they thought they would. Cost of living, yeah I mean gas prices are down in some areas of the country, there are some glimmers of good news here and there, but overall, he’s not performed.”
Strassel added, “That’s what the polls are saying. He’s not lived up to people’s expectations. Republicans have got a lot of work to do in a short period of time before the mid-term.
