Travis Kelce plays in the NFL as the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, and he’s been rumored to be Taylor Swift’s boyfriend for several weeks, but his most meaningful role isn’t on the field or driving a “Getaway Car” alongside one of the world’s most iconic musicians. From the adorable way he routinely gushes about his nieces, we’d guess the football player’s favorite role is being a doting girl uncle.
On Wednesday’s episode of his and Jason Kelce’s podcast, New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, the two NFL players reacted to a viral TikTok of Jason’s eldest daughter Wyatt. For the Philadelphia Eagles game on Sunday, Jason’s teammate A.J. Brown wore pink cleats. Jason’s wife Kylie captured their 4-year-old’s obsession with the bright pink shoes on video, during which Wyatt called out every time she saw Brown, and more importantly, his footwear.
“The highlight of A.J.’s performance, we already know, was Baby Wy enjoying some pink cleats,” Travis said during the podcast episode. He added, “We got a video of what Kylie put out of Wyatt watching the Eagles game and she didn’t miss those pink shoes one time.”
Jason proudly responded, “Dude, I mean dude that’s pretty cool. The moment I saw the video I was immediately smiling.” Wearing his own smile, Travis said, “She’s so cute man.”
The dad of three gushed, “I mean it was adorable.” Jason added, “And you want to talk about good advertising for A.J. Brown? I firmly believe if you get a kid … if you can maintain the attention of a child, you’re doing something right. That is hard to do.”
“Yeah, you’re killing it,” Travis agreed before musing, “I got to get me some pink shoes.” The Chiefs player continued, “Well shout out to A.J. Brown and shout out to Baby Wy for putting a smile on everybody’s face.”
In addition to Wyatt, Jason and Kylie also share daughters Elliotte, 2, and Bennett, 7 months. While the Eagles center is a bona fide girl dad, his brother is paving the way for a highly adorable role of his own: girl uncle.
Travis’ sweet interactions with his nieces have been the talk of the internet on several occasions. A few weeks ago, the pro athlete sparked Wyatt’s interest in an artistic hobby when he gifted her a Polaroid camera for her birthday. The girls seem to be just as enamored by their teddy bear of an uncle, with the 4-year-old lovingly calling him “Uncle Travvy” in another TikTok shared by Kylie.
The mom of three has also applauded her brother-in-law’s uncle skills, telling People, “He is like the absolute best uncle you can imagine.” Kylie explained, “[Wyatt will] be like, ‘Jump up and down.’ He’ll do it. ‘Roll on the floor,’ he’ll do it. ‘Be the pony.’ He’ll do it. So he’s all-in when it comes to being an uncle.” If Swift wasn’t already “Enchanted” by Travis’ charm, talent, and good looks, his dedication to slaying the girl uncle game surely sealed the deal.
