Jason and Travis Kelce are excited that the documentary about the Eagles star’s life, Kelce, is doing well — and say it all happened even before his little brother was linked to Taylor Swift.
On a new episode of their podcast, New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce Presented by Wave Sports + Entertainment, the brothers celebrate Kelce becoming Amazon Prime’s most-watched documentary in the United States.
According to Deadline, Kelce, which follows 35-year-old Jason’s life in the NFL, debuted at No. 1 in the U.S. and has held its spot in the Top 5 since it premiered on Sept. 12.
“By the way, the number one documentary of all time [on Amazon Prime] — did you see that, how crazy is that?,” Jason said on the podcast.
The Philadelphia Eagles center added, “All because of you and me, doesn’t have anything to do with this Taylor Swift drama,” poking fun at his family’s newfound attention from the singer’s fans amid her rumored romance with Travis.
Travis, 34, echoed his brother’s sentiment during the episode and added, “Everybody is just so interested in the family dynamic.”
Travis continued, “I thought that was pretty cool man. That’s fun to hang your hat on that. For those of you who don’t know, it’s the most-watched documentary ever on Amazon Prime Video.”
In Kelce, Jason reflects on his thoughts of retirement as he and Kylie, 31, raise their three daughters. The couple, who married in Philadelphia in April 2018, share daughters Wyatt Elizabeth, 3, Elliotte Ray, 2, and Bennett Llewellyn, who was born shortly after her father and uncle played against each other in the 2023 Super Bowl.
“I don’t think that people realize the beating you’re taking then impacts the way you interact with your family,” Kylie said in the film, adding that her husband has been telling her he plans to retire “for years” and thought that the timing would be perfect this offseason with their third daughter being born right after the 2023 Super Bowl.
“I always tell people, no matter what happens with football, how it ends, I would like him to retire when he is still able to get down on the floor and play with our kids comfortably,” Kylie shared in Kelce.
In an emotional scene with retired Eagles player Connor Barwin, Kelce said he’s “fearful” of what “the impacts of playing football are going to be long-term” after he retires. “I have two girls, and some people end up getting CTE, some guys live long healthy lives, I have no idea what’s gonna happen,” he told Barwin, who retired from the NFL in 2019.
Jason, though, opted to return for another season in the NFL, and Travis continues to play for the Kansas City Chiefs. The tight end has been the talk of the league amid his rumored romance with Swift, who cheered him on at games in Kansas City and New Jersey.
Travis and Swift are “still just getting to know each other,” a source told PEOPLE last week, adding, “It’s nothing too serious.”
Though Kelce is spending time with Swift, “he’s focusing on football like he always has,” the source says. “During the NFL season, his priority is the Chiefs, and it’s all about the team.”
