In spring 2023, Swifties were shaken to their core by the news that Taylor Swift had split from her boyfriend of six years, Joe Alwyn.

But now, there’s a new Lover for them to track in the form of NFL star Travis Kelce, who semi-publicly shot his shot with Swift after seeing her perform The Eras Tour at his home stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, in July 2023. The pair have been dating practically ever since then, and have made a handful of public appearances together amid reports that things are already “getting serious.”

In her first interview in quite some time with TIME’s Sam Lansky, Swift herself offered insight into their growing commitment to one another.

“I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” she said. “The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”
