The couple, who welcomed their daughter two years ago, named their children and pets after elements. Their dogs are named Steel and Silver, while their children are named Sterling and Bronze.

In a recent Q&A session on Instagram, Brittany explained how they came up with Sterling’s name.

“I got Steel in college and named him that. We then got our second dog and were gonna name her Sterling because it went with Steel perfect. Then I said no, I want that to be my daughter’s name, so then we came up with Silver to go with Steel. Then daughter came & we were already set on Sterling. Then having a boy and him being Patrick Mahomes III, Bronze was just meant to be and went perfect.”

Bronze was born on November 28, 2022. Brittany also revealed that she had tattoos of her children’s names and birthdates.

During the Q&A, Brittany also spoke about her labor scare while giving birth to Bronze. She got induced at 39 weeks and 3 days, and her water partially broke that morning. The rest of her water was broken by the doctor, and she was already dilated to a 4 and started on pitocin.

She got an epidural at around 1:30pm and started pushing at 5pm. She pushed for 7 minutes, and Bronze was born. His cord was wrapped around his neck twice, but thankfully, it didn’t affect anything, and he was fine.

Brittany also talked about her anxiety issues and how they’ve only gotten worse over the years. She’s been taking therapy to feel better. Brittany’s openness about her personal struggles is inspiring, and we wish the Mahomes family all the best.
