JUST IN: Here’s Why Prince Harry Only Appears in One Episode of Meghan Markle’s Eight-Part Netflix Series. Though he has appeared in the trailer and teasers for the show ahead of its release, Harry only actually….

In their 2022 Netflix offering Harry & Meghan, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle appeared side-by-side throughout the entirety of the six-part docuseries. In Meghan’s new Netflix show, With Love, Meghan—which drops on Netflix on March 4—Harry only appears in one episode of the show’s eight episode arc.
Though he has appeared in the trailer and teasers for the show ahead of its release, Harry only actually appears on the show in the season finale, when he attends a celebratory brunch Meghan throws alongside Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland, and other friends.
“I love a brunch party—there’s just something really charming about it, and I think it’s a great way to connect,” she said on the show. “Of course, my husband will be there, my mom will be here, my best friend since college, just my community. Having a brunch in the sunshine with the people that I love, celebrating this next chapter of my life.”
Later in the episode, she calls Harry “my lovely husband” and says that the brunch will “be fun and definitely no pressure, just a good time.” As Harry arrives, the couple—married since May 19, 2018 and the parents of two kids, 5-year-old Prince Archie and 3-year-old Princess Lilibet—share a quick kiss. “You did a really great job,” Harry tells his wife of the soiree. “I love it.”
The last frame of With Love, Meghan sees Harry and Meghan hugging, as Meghan says, “To love. Can’t end on a better note than that.” Though Harry appears in only one episode, he visited the set with Archie and Lilibet, Meghan told People in a new cover story: “I loved that my children were able to watch me working and see the balance of that and understand what Mama does and is working to create and share,” she said. “It was really special because up until then, they hadn’t seen me at work.”
Mindy Kaling—who appears in episode two of With Love, Meghan—said on the Golden Globes red carpet in January that Harry “was there” on set, “but he didn’t cook for me,” adding “I heard he’s actually a pretty good cook.” A crew member speaking to People told the outlet a likely reason why Harry was seen so little on the show—and it has nothing to do with marital issues (which the couple always seem to be facing).
“Whenever Harry visited set, he was always super polite and friendly,” they said. “But it was clear he wanted this to be Meghan’s moment to shine.” A source speaking to Hello! added of Harry that “He’s thrilled to see her embracing this again. It’s something he admired about her from the beginning. For her, it’s a return to something that’s always brought her joy.”
For her part, Meghan told People that, while they started their post-royal family working life doing almost all of their projects together, they now are pursuing separate interests while still working together on their nonprofit, The Archewell Foundation. “I imagine that it’s the same as it would be for any couple,” Meghan told the outlet. “You have your individual jobs, but then you have things that you share together.”
