Travis Kelce was spotted leaving Taylor Swift’s Tribeca apartment on Sunday afternoon before the Chiefs star turned up at MetLife Stadium to see brother Jason face the Jets – but his new flame stayed away.
Swift looked set to attend her second NFL game this week after watching her new beau, Kelce, and the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Denver Broncos on Thursday Night Football.
Excitement and anticipation of the new lovebirds’ appearance at MetLife built after they were spotted hand-in-hand, arriving for a date night in New York City on Saturday. The A-list couple grabbed a meal at Nobu before making cameos during the 49th season premiere episode of Saturday Night Live.
However, in the end Swift appeared to steer clear of Jason and the Philadelphia Eagles’ game in New Jersey.
But Kelce was seen leaving Swift’s apartment in a green Palm Angels tracksuit at around 3pm on Sunday after they spent the night together. He was then spotted near the sidelines at MetLife Stadium alongside some friends.
Despite her new beau leading the Chiefs to two Super Bowls, 12-time Grammy Award winner Swift is a renowned Philadelphia fan, referencing the team in her song ‘Gold Rush’ off her ninth studio album, ‘Evermore,’ in which she references her ‘Eagles t-shirt hanging from the door’.
Swift had been in attendance at MetLife Stadium only two weeks ago as she rocked up with her posse of celebrity pals, including Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, when it was Kelce and the Chiefs’ turn to tackle the Jets.
During their posh dinner date on Saturday, the pair were seen clinging to each other and cuddling at the table, a source told TMZ.
The couple appeared on the late-night comedy show hours later, with Kelce joining a sketch that poked fun at their very public relationship.
Swift announced the night’s musical guest, Ice Spice, which sent the crowd into a frenzy.
At the cast party, Swift was seeing chatting with the rapper and her friends.
Swift and Kelce were seen kissing and getting ‘handsy’ at the afterparty into the early hours.
They strolled into Catch NYC – a glamorous steakhouse frequented by celebrities – around 2.20am while holding hands.
Their presence in Manhattan sparked belief that they could also make an NFL cameo in New Jersey.
Though despite excitement over the prospect of them sitting alongside each other at a football game for the first time, there was no sign of Swift and Kelce at Sunday’s game.
Swift was first spotted cheering on Kelce at Arrowhead Stadium during the Chiefs’ Week 3 rout of the Chicago Bears, before hitting the Big Apple the following week.
