Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are reportedly “giving things a real try” when it comes to their romance, though it’s been suggested that the pair face challenges.
The speculation comes after singer-songwriter Taylor, 33, and NFL player Travis, 34, were seen together in New York City over the weekend. They’re said to have attended a party on one night and went for a meal on the other.
There’s been rumours about the pair’s relationship for weeks, which were fuelled by Taylor having attended some of his American football games recently. Her and Travis are believed to have spent other time together in recent weeks.
A source has now told People magazine that Taylor and Travis are giving their romance “a real try,” despite both having “insane” schedules. They also addressed Taylor preparing to return to her the Eras Tour next month.
The source said that despite the upcoming resuming of the tour and his NFL schedule, there’s “not some looming date” in the relationship. The source added that they will “figure it out” and that Travis “knows what he signed up for”.
Discussing the athlete, the source said: “He’s said it himself, he knows what he signed up for with this attention, but they’ve spent time under the radar too.” Further discussing the pair, the source added: “They’re giving things a real try.”
The source also told the outlet: “She’s the biggest star in the world and it’s no secret dating an athlete is very tough, but they’ve been texting and talking on the phone between the pockets of time they get to spend with each other.”
It was further claimed that Travis – who has played for the Kansas City Chiefs since 2013 – is still “very focused” on his team as they continue the latest NFL season, which began just last month. They said he’s “a pro at compartmentalising”.
Taylor has supported Travis at some of his recent games, including when his team faced off against the Denver Broncos last week. She was among those in crowd at the Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, when Travis’ team won.
Prior to that, she had been joined by some of her celebrity pals for the team’s game against the New York Jets earlier this month. Taylor had previously been among the audience at Travis’ game against the Chicago Bears last month.
