Tom Cruise’s heavily criticized Jack Reacher movies have found a strong audience on Netflix, especially in the U.S., but on a global scale, the action hero has been well and truly beaten by everyone’s favorite square-panted cartoon character – SpongeBob. It seems that when it comes to impossible missions, Cruise’s limits have a ceiling after all, as Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie clings onto the top spot of the Netflix global chart.

Jack Reacher: Never Go Back has been dominating the Netflix movie chart in the U.S., and Cruise’s first outing as Lee Child’s mercenary has been sitting not too far behind. While neither movie was truly satisfying for fans of the character, Cruise’s international appeal helped the films to some level of financial success.

In the last two years, however, fans of the Reacher novels have found Alan Ritchson’s Prime Video series righting the many wrongs of the movies, which would make you assume that no one would be that interested in watching them. Clearly, this is not the case, and the films have found a new lease of life on Netflix, as many unloved movies do.

Whether many fans of the Reacher series have been curious to see how Cruise fared as the title character, it is hard to say, but no one in the numbers department is going to complain too much whatever the reason for the two films’ reintroduction to audiences.
