Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit, has earned a cool net worth of $100m from the social media website to combine with Williams’ $300m earned through her record-breaking tennis career so they’re set up for life.
But they’re trying to teach their children humility, especially Olympia as the six-year-old remains in the dark about just how rich her parents’ bank accounts look and he pleaded with fans to keep it that way.
“She doesn’t know so don’t tell her please,” Ohanian asked fans listening to the Overtime podcast about the shares she owns in two sports teams. “She has no idea.
“In 2019, I set aside a few hundred grand into a trust fund for her and any other future kids Serena, and I have. The youngster already owns shares in the Angel City FC soccer team and is a part-owner of the Los Angeles Golf Club with her younger sister, Adira River Ohanian, as her parents seek to help her set up her own life.
Though at the youthful age of six, that’s a long time away and Williams and her husband are keen to keep that under wraps for now as a potential surprise to the children later in their lives when they understand it all a bit more.
