Fans were stunned to find out Taylor Swift had to cancel her Eras Tour in Vienna, Austria after a terrorist plot was foiled by local law enforcement, leaving her Kansas City Chiefs’ boyfriend, Travis Kelce, worrying for her safety whilst stranded 5,200 miles away.
Two men were arrested on suspicion of planning to conduct a terrorist attack after being inspired by the Islamic State, commonly known as ISIS/ISIL/Daesh, who historically operated in Syria and Iraq and have claimed responsibility for numerous attacks in Europe. Swift, due to perform at the Ernst Happel Stadium on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, subsequently cancelled all events, and disappointed fans will be refunded in the following 10 working days.
Austria’s General Director for Public Security, Franz Ruf, confirmed a 19-year-old Austrian citizen had been arrested on August 7, before another teenager was arrested later in the same day, aged 17.
