They were dropping off their oldest daughter, Violet Affleck, at Yale University in Connecticut — where the 18-year-old is set to begin undergraduate studies this fall. Getting Violet prepared for college life has been Affleck’s #1 priority in recent weeks, according to an insider who spoke to People. However, that isn’t all Affleck has been up to in recent days.
Before a small celebration at home on Aug. 15 — in recognition of his 52nd birthday — Affleck joined Garner and their three kids on a trip to Japan. Garner, who was married to Affleck between 2005 and 2018, shared a photo collage to Instagram from her trip — and even though Affleck does not feature in the photos, People has confirmed that he was there.
