Aston Villa terrifies PSG

Aston Villa ran French champions PSG so close in the Champions League quarter finals, losing 5-4 on aggregate
Aston Villa are out of the Champions League – but they did so kicking, screaming and by making their fanbase incredibly proud. With Paris Saint-Germain 5-1 up on aggregate at one stage on Tuesday night, a late first half goal from Youri Tielemans sparked a second half reply.
Sadly, John McGinn’s and Ezri Konsa’s goals weren’t enough to draw Villa level in the tie and force extra time and PSG, the French champions, escaped Birmingham having clung on for a place in the semi-final. They’d netted through their full-backs, Achraf Hakimi and Nuno Mendes, the latter whose late goal in the first leg proved decisive.
