Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are the world’s newest rumored power couple —uniting NFL fans and Swifties everywhere.
So, how did it all start? Like all great modern love stories, it began at a Taylor Swift Eras concert. In July 2023, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end attended the “Anti-Hero” singer’s Kansas City show at Arrowhead Stadium in hopes of meeting the pop star and giving her his phone number, Women’s Health previously reported. “If you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets. I received a bunch of them being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it,” the pro-athlete recounted in his New Heights podcast. But while a smooth move, the footballer was rather unsuccessful. “She doesn’t meet anybody, or at least she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personal,” he jokingly added.
But as the saying goes, “Good things come to those who wait.” Soon after Travis’ failed attempt to get Taylor’s attention, he, well, got it and the two did indeed meet up. “Taylor and Travis have been quietly hanging out,” a source exclusively told The Messenger on September 12. “She saw him when she was in NYC a few weeks ago.” Then, on September 24, the Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) crooner was spotted cheering on the Chiefs along with Travis’ mom, Donna Kelce, in a move that nearly broke the internet. (Meeting the parents already? Uh, NBD.)
Since then, Taylor has been to another Chiefs game—this time with besties Blake Lively and Sophie Turner—and the pair have reportedly been on several dates. Most recently, the “Bejeweled” singer flew to Kansas City on October 6 “to see Travis,” an insider exclusively told Us Weekly, a day after his birthday. (Yes folks, Travis is in fact a Libra. Are we surprised?)
These two are clearly smitten with each other, according to everyone keeping a close eye on their developing ‘ship, a.k.a. everyone. And the stars have literally aligned to create this match made in heaven. Taylor has a Sagittarius Sun sign, and Travis has a Libra Sun sign, says intuitive astrologer Rachel Lang, referring to their “main” zodiac signs. “These two signs have a general affinity for one another and the foundation for a relationship based in a solid friendship.”
But that’s not all. Lang analyzed Taylor and Travis’s birth charts to see what their astrological compatibility reveals about their budding romance. And let’s just say these two are currently in a lavender haze (get it?).
Air ignites fire, and fire thrives when given more air—it’s just basic physics. As an air sign, Travis can add energy to Taylor’s fire, encouraging her career and helping her see new horizons for her future, says Lang.
But while there’s no denying the affinity between their Sun signs, one of the strongest points of compatibility is with regards to Travis’s Sagittarius Moon—the luminary that rules your emotional world, per Lang. “When one lover’s Sun is in the same sign as the other’s Moon, there’s an instant sense of familiarity,” explains Lang. Taylor and Travis likely feel safe in each other’s presence, Lang adds. They may even have a draw towards creating a family and establishing a home together.
What’s more: “With his Moon in the same sign as her Sun, he adds light to her already bright aura,” says Lang. In other words, “he lets her be bejeweled.” Travis will celebrate who Taylor is, allowing her to just be herself. And because Taylor’s Sun serves as a shining spotlight for Travis, she will do the same for him, Lang adds.
But Saturn might challenge their sense of trust.
Taylor’s Saturn—the planet of rules and responsibilities—in Capricorn is in a square aspect to Travis’s Sun and Mars—the planet of action and drive—in Libra, Lang says. It’s worth noting that these two are born around the same time (two months and eight days apart, to be exact), so Travis’s Saturn is also in Capricorn, making this aspect a natal influence for him, according to Lang. Translation: He’s naturally hard on himself and might project those insecurities onto her, according to Lang. At times, Travis may feel like Taylor’s being critical of him when, in reality, she’s simply expressing herself.
