United States gymnast Simone Biles has been one of the biggest stars at the 2024 Paris Olympics. While she’s had incredible success, earning three gold medals and one silver medal, Biles is frustrated with the questions she’s been receiving from reporters and fans.
Biles went to social media to ask people to stop asking her about the future of her career, explaining that Olympic athletes should have a chance to live in the moment and enjoy their accomplishments.
“You guys really gotta stop asking athletes what’s next after they win a medal at the Olympics,” Biles said. She thinks the preparation leading up to the Olympics, which are held every four years, should be enough reason for people to focus on the present.“Let us soak up the moment we’ve worked our whole lives for,” added Biles.
Many of the questions that Simone Biles is referring to surround the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. The 27-year-old briefly spoke about her potential participation in 2028. “Never say never,” Biles said. “Next Olympics are at home. You just never know. I am getting really old.” Biles will have some time to think about the future after concluding her competitions in Paris last Monday.
