Rod Stewart embracing life but knows ‘days are numbered’ after cancelling Las Vegas show: The famed singer is closing in on his….More Details
Rod Stewart will not be performing his 200th show in Las Vegas, with the British singer cancelling the show just hours before he was set to take the stage.
The 79-year-old apologized to fans in a statement, stating his poor health was to blame for the last-minute cancellation. “Most people can work with strep throat but obviously not me,” Stewart wrote.
“I’m absolutely gutted. I’ve been looking forward to this concert for so long. I’m absolutely gutted. I’ve been looking forward to this concert for so long. Stewart recently stated that he isn’t worried about death despite turning 80 next year.
However, he did acknowledge that his “days are numbered”, though he is keen to live out the rest of his life as best he can. “I’m aware my days are numbered, but I’ve got no fear,” Stewart told the US Sun. “We have all got to pass on at some point, so we are all in the same basket.”
“I am going to be enjoying myself for these last few years as much as I can. I say few – probably another 15. I can do that easy mate, easy.” Stewart has faced health issues in recent years. Back in 2019, he revealed he had been battling prostate cancer for three years. He was also diagnosed with thyroid cancer back in 2000, which required surgery to remove a tumor. The singer noted that given his age, he takes care of his health as he plans to continue performing.
